Today Goychay hosted a zone conference of municipalities.

Sh.Yusifov, the chairman of National Assembly of Azerbaijan Rural Municipalities, informed at the conference attending by more than 200 municipality chairmans from Yevlakh, Goranboy, Agdash, Goychay, Ujar and Kurdamir districts, about an importance of the event and stated that there is a proposals about unification of local self-government bodies with weak financial situation and capabilities:“This proposal have been considered by the National Assembly of city, settlement and rural municipalities as expedient and it was decided to hold a zone conference with participation of municipality chairmen in order to express a view to this issue". Sh.Yusifov stated that a number of municipalities justified the citizens’ hopes, gained some economic and financial potensials and reached the solution of social problems of the people while some of them could not growt htheir potential possibilities due to some reasons. Speaking in the conference, the number of municipality chairmen supported the proposal of unification of municipalities.They noted that as the potential impossibilities of the municipalities with small territory and sparse population are weak their unification is necessary. M.Manafov, the executive secretary of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Rural Municipalities and S.Mamedov, the Head of Central Apparatus of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Settlement Municipalities attended the meeting.
